The brief

The study explored whether interest in climate action showed up in customer behaviour.

One Tribe’s role

A comparative review of ecommerce performance

01 / The customer & the challenge

Look beyond stated preferences to what customers actually did.

Brands can hear that shoppers care about the environment without knowing how that interest affects their business. One Tribe reviewed ecommerce data from six brands to examine customer behaviour after climate-action incentives were introduced.

The review looked at the path from newsletter sign-up to purchase and repeat business. It brought together results from different sectors rather than treating a single store as representative of every business.

02 / What One Tribe did

Compare several parts of the customer journey.

The analysis examined newsletter conversion, sales conversion, average order value and sales from returning customers. The intention was to see whether changes appeared at more than one point in the relationship.

03 / The programme in practice

The relationship extended beyond the first transaction.

Newsletter sign-ups gave brands permission to continue a conversation. Product-linked conservation added an environmental incentive at purchase, while repeat sales reflected customers returning over time.

The six brands featured in the review were Gung Ho, Skull Crusher Coffee, Goose Studios, Refillery, Walk London and Nuzest. Their products and customer journeys differed, so the findings describe a mixed group rather than a universal benchmark.

04 / The results

Positive reported changes across sign-ups, conversions and repeat sales.

Historical observational review of six brands. The average-order-value figures are omitted because the underlying amounts and stated percentage do not reconcile.

The review reported average increases of 29.14% in newsletter sign-up conversion, 10.47% in sales conversion and 43.91% in sales from repeat customers.

These are observational results, with no common sample size, control group or full reporting period supplied. They show what the participating brands reported, rather than proving that the incentives alone caused the changes.
