Exporting creates opportunities, and a complicated emissions picture.

Santander Navigator helps UK businesses overcome barriers to international growth. Carbon is one of those challenges: manufacturing, warehousing, shipping and distribution can all contribute to a company’s footprint.

Many smaller businesses knew they needed to act but were unsure how to start. They needed guidance that connected carbon measurement and reduction with the practical realities of their own sector.

02 / What One Tribe did

Bring carbon expertise into the support businesses already use.

As a preferred partner, One Tribe supported Navigator members directly and created a Carbon Education series. Launched in September 2022, it covered high-emitting sectors including logistics, food and drink, retail and wholesale, and technology and media.

A webinar could become the start of a practical conversation.

The education series gave business leaders several ways to engage, from podcasts and articles to interactive events. Sector-specific sessions helped translate broad carbon concepts into questions about their own operations.

The programme was also promoted through trade advisers and the Food and Drink Export Association, extending access to businesses seeking help with sustainable exports.

The work gave businesses a more accessible route into carbon measurement and reduction, with a specialist team available to help them understand the next step.
