Alpkit had measured its footprint and set reduction targets. One Tribe helped the outdoor brand choose and retire 3,333 tonnes of carbon credits, alongside its continuing work to reduce emissions.

A sustainability-focused outdoor brand needed help choosing certified carbon projects that reflected its supply chain and values.
Carbon portfolio design, project due diligence and an impact page
Reduction came first. Choosing carbon projects was the next challenge.
Alpkit is a British outdoor and cycling brand with environmental responsibility built into its business since 2004. It is a Certified B Corporation and supports grassroots environmental action through the Alpkit Foundation.
The team had already worked with Nottingham Trent University to calculate its footprint and establish science-based reduction targets. In 2023 it wanted a specialist partner to help address remaining Scope 1–3 emissions through certified offsets.
The brief was specific. Projects needed to reflect the places Alpkit manufactured, including China, benefit people as well as nature and fit a budget that also supported the Foundation’s wider work.
“One Tribe has helped us source a balanced portfolio of certified offsets aligned with our values and emissions footprint.”
Choose the projects around the business, not the other way round.
One Tribe’s carbon team worked through Alpkit’s goals, manufacturing locations and preferred project types before sourcing a diversified portfolio. Due diligence covered both renewable energy and nature-based projects.

Customers could see which projects the brand supported.
The impact page gave Alpkit a place to explain the portfolio and its funding. Project information and visual reporting brought the details together, helping the customer-facing brand communicate what it was doing.
The projects supported renewable energy, forest protection, biodiversity and local livelihoods. This complemented Alpkit’s wider approach, which continued to prioritise reductions in the company’s own emissions.

Partnership results from the 2023 programme. Carbon credits are separate from Alpkit’s operational emissions reductions.
One Tribe sourced and retired credits covering 3,333 tCO₂e. The work combined a quick delivery timetable with a portfolio selected around the company’s values and manufacturing footprint.
Projects were benchmarked against UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 4, 6, 8, 13, 15 and 17. Alpkit could continue its reduction programme with a clearer, documented approach to its separate offset activity.
