What the project does.
Located in the Thepharak District of Nakhonratchasima Province, this greenfield project is the first wind farm in the area and aims to generate clean electricity through wind energy. The project comprises 30 Wind Turbine Generators each with a capacity of 3.0 MW, amounting to a total power output of 90 megawatts.
Channeled into the Thailand National Grid, the clean electricity produced by the project replaces fossil fuel equivalent energy from thermal power stations burning coal, natural gas, diesel, and bunker oil. This direct conversion from wind to electrical energy results in a significant decrease in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions with the project reducing 162,898 tCO2 per year and 1,628,980 tCO2 over a 10-year crediting period.
This wind farm generates environmental benefits through renewable electricity generation and also enhances the country’s economic wellbeing and sustainable development. It fosters employment opportunities during its construction and operational phases, and contributes to infrastructure development and monetary investment in the region.
The project has a strong commitment to environmental and sustainable development that benefit local communities through the following contributions:
