What the project does.
The project is pioneering low-carbon, biobased construction by producing prefabricated wooden frame walls insulated with straw. Traditional concrete-based construction materials are a significant contributor to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This project replaces high-emission materials with sustainable alternatives, reducing the environmental impact of buildings while enhancing thermal performance.
By using locally sourced wood and straw, the project significantly reduces transportation emissions and supports regional farmers by integrating agricultural byproducts into construction. The project’s innovative technology ensures high-performance insulation and rapid on-site assembly.
Through scalable, eco-friendly building solutions, this project aligns with France’s climate goals and contributes to the global transition to sustainable construction.
