What the project does.
This project introduces a geothermal energy-based central heating system in Taishan Village, replacing coal-fired boilers that previously supplied heat to residential and commercial buildings. The initiative significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions and improves local air quality by eliminating the combustion of fossil fuels for heating.
The project involves the construction and operation of 22 geothermal wells, 6 heat substations, and an extensive heat distribution network. The system supplies 2,480,907 m² of residential heating and 94,516 m² of commercial heating, providing a total heating load of 116.84 MW.
This project aligns with China’s clean energy transition and supports climate action efforts by reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
