Verified carbon projects sit alongside reduction. They do not make a venue or event carbon neutral or net zero.

What the project does.

The main purpose of this project is to generate clean electricity through renewable sources of solar energy and replace the use of fossil fuels to supply electricity throughout the state of Rajasthan. By replacing anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s), estimated to be 146,086 tCO2e per year (proposed avg. value), with solar power, the reduction in the use of thermal/fossil fuels will be around 154,179 MWh/year.

The project activity involves the installation of a 100 MWac solar power project in Bhadla in the state of Rajasthan, India. Focusing on CO2 reduction, the project aims to mitigate climate change by preventing the release of anthropogenic GHGs. This project not only harnesses the power of wind but also promotes a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to meeting the nation’s power demand.

The project has a strong commitment to environmental and sustainable development that benefit local communities through the following contributions:

As a renewable source of energy, solar energy reduces the dependence on fossil fuels and conserves natural resources which are on the verge of depletion. The clean energy technology used reduces specific pollutants like SOx, NOx, and SPM associated with conventional thermal power generation facilities and does not negatively impact the health of local communities. As a result of its zero emissions, the project activity also helps in avoiding significant amounts of GHG emissions.
