Bundled Wind Projects in Gujarat & Andhra Pradesh, India

Generating Clean Electricity by Harnessing Wind Power

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Harnessing Wind Power for a Sustainable Future

This project generates renewable electricity by harnessing wind energy across multiple sites in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, India. By installing and operating wind turbine generators, it delivers clean power directly to the national grid—reducing reliance on fossil fuel-based electricity generation.

With a total installed capacity of 95.5 MW across 56 turbines, the project replaces carbon-intensive energy sources and contributes to large-scale emissions reductions. Over its crediting period, it is expected to avoid significant greenhouse gas emissions while supporting India’s transition toward a more sustainable energy mix.

As a bundled renewable energy initiative, the project combines multiple wind installations into a single, scalable climate solution—demonstrating how distributed clean energy infrastructure can deliver measurable climate impact while supporting regional development.

Environmental, Community, and Employment Benefits

The project has a strong commitment to environmental and sustainable development that benefit local communities through the following contributions:

Environmental Impact

By generating electricity from wind—a fully renewable and zero-emission energy source—the project directly reduces dependence on fossil fuels and avoids greenhouse gas emissions associated with conventional power generation.

In addition to CO₂ reductions, the project helps prevent harmful air pollutants such as SOx, NOx, and particulate matter typically produced by thermal power plants. It also avoids the creation of solid waste, such as ash, commonly associated with fossil-based energy generation.

Community Impact

The project supports local communities through job creation during both construction and ongoing operations, contributing to improved livelihoods and regional economic stability.

Infrastructure development associated with the project—such as improved road access and connectivity—further enhances local conditions and can stimulate additional economic activity in surrounding areas.

Economic Impact

As a clean energy investment, the project contributes to reducing the gap between electricity demand and supply in the region. By increasing the availability of renewable power, it supports more stable and sustainable energy systems.

The project also drives local economic activity by creating both direct and indirect employment opportunities and encouraging long-term investment in renewable energy infrastructure.

Climate Action

The project delivers measurable climate benefits by supplying renewable electricity to the grid and displacing emissions-intensive energy sources.

By scaling wind power generation, it plays a key role in accelerating India’s transition to low-carbon energy systems and contributes directly to global climate mitigation efforts.

Technological Impact

Through the successful deployment and operation of wind energy technology, the project promotes the adoption of renewable energy solutions and demonstrates their viability at scale.

It also encourages further investment in clean technologies, helping to accelerate innovation and broader participation in the renewable energy sector.
