Introduction

One Tribe is proud to announce our partnership with GCI FILM in support of their newly released animated film, Ozi: Voice of the Forest. As the official climate action partner for this freshly animated movie, One Tribe is thrilled to contribute to a project that not only entertains but also delivers a powerful message about the urgent need to protect our planet’s rainforests.

About Ozi: Voice of the Forest

Ozi: Voice of the Forest is a heart warming and adventurous animated film, brought to life by an impressive production team, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Mike Medavoy. The film features an all-star cast, with Amandla Stenberg voicing the lead character, Ozi, alongside Laura Dern, RuPaul, Donald Sutherland, and Djimon Hounsou.

The story follows Ozi, an orphaned orangutan, who discovers her influencer powers can be a force for good. As she embarks on a mission to save her rainforest home from deforestation, Ozi’s journey becomes a testament to the impact one voice can have in protecting our planet.

Protect Forests with Ozi and One Tribe

As part of our innovative approach to climate action, One Tribe utilises cutting-edge technology that allows audiences to engage with Ozi: Voice of the Forest in a meaningful way. At the end of the movie, viewers will find One Tribe’s unique QR code. By scanning the code, they can step into Ozi’s world and take direct action—saving one tree for every scan. This initiative directly supports One Tribe’s climate partners and the International Animal Rescue in our ongoing efforts to preserve critical orangutan habitats.

The Urgent Need to Protect Orangutans

The film sheds light on the alarming decline of orangutan populations, which have plummeted by up to 80% since 1973. With fewer than 17,000 Sumatran orangutans, approximately 57,000 Bornean orangutans, and a critically endangered population of just 800 Tapanuli orangutans remaining in the wild, the need for action is more urgent than ever.

One Tribe, together with our climate action partners, is committed to providing essential funding and support to organisations like YIARI in Indonesia. YIARI is dedicated to safeguarding 300,000 hectares of rainforest, a vital habitat for orangutans and a critical component of our planet’s biodiversity. Our efforts focus on preventing illegal deforestation, combating human encroachment, and fostering sustainable development for local communities.

Summary

The partnership between One Tribe and GCI FILM is a unique and exciting opportunity to bring climate action into the spotlight. By collaborating on Ozi: Voice of the Forest, we’re not only raising awareness but also empowering audiences to take real-world steps in preserving our planet’s precious ecosystems. Together, we can make a difference—one tree, one voice at a time.

Don’t miss the chance to experience Ozi: Voice of the Forest, now playing in cinemas nationwide. Remember to scan the One Tribe QR code at the end of the movie to save a tree and join us in our mission to protect the world’s rainforests.
